Pilates Mat and Reformer classes are now offered in High Point. The Pilates method of body conditioning was developed over 90 years ago by Joseph H. Pilates to strengthen and tone the muscles. It improves posture, flexibility and balance. The system has been carefully designed to increase strength and flexibility and elongate the muscles; the beautiful result is a lean, strong body type. Pilates is referred to as the “science of control”, and is a non impact form of exercise suitable for anyone from top athletes to people just starting out.
Pilates Reformer
Pilates Reformer classes use specialized equipment to train the entire body resulting in overall life improvement. In fact, many people that experience back or muscle pain find this helps tremendously.

Why do Pilates?
No matter what your age or condition, pilates will work for you. Pilates is an innovative system of exercise that dramatically transforms the way your body looks, feels and, most importantly, performs.
Pilates teaches body awareness and improves flexibility, agility and economy of motion. It even helps alleviate back pain. Top athletes in the NBA, NFL, MLB and the Olympics use it for strength, flexibility, and injury prevention.
What is Pilates? Strength. Flexibility. Agility.
Pilates emphasizes core strength, proper breathing, and correct spinal and pelvic alignment. When your core (deep abdominals) is strong, your back, arms and legs will function at their optimum level.
Pilates gives you:

A stronger more agile body
Better performance in sports
Greater strength & muscle tone
More efficient respiratory & circulatory systems
Better posture
Improved flexibility
Less incidence of back pain or other injuries
Improved stamina
Increased joint mobility
Lower stress level
Strengthened immune system
