Programs & Leagues

Sportscenter Athletic Club offers some friendly competition organized by our Program Directors. We have fall and winter basketball leagues, year round volleyball leagues and competitive racquetball leagues. We have divisions to accommodate all skill levels from beginner to advanced.

Fitness Challenges

At various times throughout the year, Sportscenter Athletic Club creates some friendly competition by holding an inner club cardio challenge. Members record their results on a daily basis to compete for prizes.

Pacesetters

Pacesetters is a class for seniors and others looking for a more gentle approach to fitness. This group is free of charge and meets once a week. Educational topics are covered as well as exercise classes. Blood pressure is checked before each class.

Pacesetters Classes: Flexibility, water aerobics, walking, cardio workouts, education, strength training and lots more! New members are always welcome. Pacesetters Classes meet Wednesday’s at 11:00am.

Racquetball

Competitive Racquetball Leagues: Competitive Racquetball Leagues are for members ages 18 and over. Scheduled Racquetball League play is on Mondays and Wednesdays. Racquetball leagues are offered throughout the year.

Racquetball Challenge Courts: Members of the Sportscenter Athletic Club are invited to participate in the Racquetball Challenge Courts, which offer a fun, competitive way to participate in racquetball play. We offer four Challenge courts on Tuesdays, two courts on Wednesdays, and two beginner courts on Thursdays in High Point. Racquetball leagues are offered throughout the year.

Basketball

Basketball Leagues: Basketball league games are currently played on Thursday evenings. The leagues are organized by the Program Director and teams are picked in a draft format. 

Members sign up for this league individually and are notified of their team assignment and schedule prior to the first basketball game. Referees and scorekeepers are provided for all basketball league games.

Basketball League Sign Up: Basketball Leagues are for members ages 18 and over only and are Co-ed. The league fee is $30 and this includes a league t-shirt.

Pick-Up Basketball: We have Pick-Up Basketball every Monday & Thursday evening from 5:30pm – 8:30pm during the “off-league” season.

Volleyball

Outdoor Volleyball Leagues: The Sportscenter Athletic Club offers Volleyball leagues outside by the pool beginning in June and ending in October. These leagues are co-ed. Volleyball Leagues are for members 18 and over. Players sign up individually and are placed on a volleyball team via a draft system.

Pick-Up Volleyball Games: Pick-Up volleyball is available on Wednesdays at 6:30pm and Saturdays at 2:00pm.

Indoor Volleyball Leagues: Indoor Volleyball Leagues usually run October thru December and January thru March. Volleyball leagues are co-ed.

Fit Kids Mini Camp

Sportscenter Athletic Club offers camps during the summer for members ages 5-12 years. Each camp lasts for five days. These camps are full of sports, fun and friends. Camps include instruction in Basketball, Racquetball, Volleyball, Fitness, Aerobics, Tennis, Soccer and Wiffleball. Each day children participate in sports and fitness activities. The day ends with a 45 minute free swim in the outdoor pool.

All camps are Monday-Friday from 9:00am – 12:00noon. Registration for Camp will begin end of March/early April. Space is limited and based on a first come, first serve basis. Snacks and Camp T-shirts are included. To sign up for the Fit Kids Mini Camp call today (336)841-0100.

Fit Kids Camp Schedule: June 22nd – 26th (ages 8-12 years old) and July 20th – 24th (ages 5-7 years old)
Monday – Thursday 9:00am – 12:00pm
9:00am – 10:00am: Games/Group Fitness Class
10:00am – 10:15am: Snack Time
10:15am – 11:15am: Games/Craft
11:15am – 12:00pm: Outside Swim

Group Fitness Classes: Each day your child will get a chance to participate in group fitness classes taught by one of the Sportscenters Group Fitness Instructors. We hope this will give your child a chance to learn new ways to get fit while having fun.

Swimming: Please be sure to speak with our Program Director if your child cannot swim on his/her own and needs to wear a swim belt of “floating water wings.”

Snacks: All campers will be given a healthy snack and drink each day. Please make a note on the registration form if your child has any food allergies that we shoudl be aware of when planning our snack time.
